| Sutter County California Car Accident Injures Four |
|
There's no confirmation about why or how Carolyn Atkins failed to notice that the signal had turned red, but her mistake resulted in a near tragic car accident in south Sutter County on Monday that has left four people injured. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 1998 Ford Ranger driven by Ridge resident, Carolyn Atkins apparently headed north on Route 99, ran a red light. The Ranger slammed into the right side of a Jeep Cherokee that was turning left. In the Cherokee was 63-year-old Herold Bond, his wife 59-year-old Janis, and their son, Corey Bond. Janis Bond is reported to have suffered severe injuries in the California car accident. Her injuries included broken ribs, as well as severe injuries. She was rushed to Sutter Roseville Medical Center, where she has been reported to be in a serious condition. Besides Janis, her husband also sustained moderate back injuries, although he was not admitted to the hospital. Corey, who was also in the car, suffered no injuries in the car accident. In the Ranger, were Ridge resident Carolyn Atkins and her husband John. Both husband and wife suffered moderate injuries in the car accident. Their injuries haven't necessitated any hospitalization either. They seem to have escaped serious injuries, but the same can't be said for Janis, whose family is still waiting for her to make it through. News sources have no information on what caused Atkins to miss a red light. It could have been because she was in a hurry to get to wherever they were going, and failed to notice the red light, or was distracted in the car and missed the signal. She could also have deliberately missed the red light to get to her destination. Whatever the reason, there's no doubt that her actions have placed a woman in the hospital with very serious injuries. Janice Bond is likely looking at an extensive hospital stay, followed by weeks of physical therapy with the kind of injuries she has reportedly suffered. The Bonds are going through a traumatic ordeal. They should consider discussing their options with a California car accident lawyer.
